PRLog (Press Release)– Jul 18, 2011– Your First Soul - Necromancer
For this Rift Leveling guide, we will select Necromancer as your very first soul. The main reason you want to get this class first is because it gives you a pet, which is pretty cool.
Your pet is fantastically good for leveling up, it deals a massive amount of damage and can solo nearly all monsters 1 vs 1. Even from level 1 you can take on enemies in 2 vs 1 or 3 vs 1 situations right away thanks to your pet.
Note: You might not want to use Necromancer long-term and that is absolutely okay. Don't forget that you can swap your souls any time you want at the trainer. This Rift Mage leveling guide is going to be based off this build. Take my advice and use it and then switch to your end-game combo once you hit level 50.
Your Second Soul - Warlock
Now the Warlock is the perfect second soul for a Necromancer. By accessing Warlock, you get two more early DoT spells: Life Leech and Dark Touch. Place two points in Warlock as soon as you can to unlock Dark Touch.
Your Third Soul - Dominator
While it may seem a bit odd or an unusual choice, Dominator is the perfect third pairing for the Necromancer and Warlock duo. The excellent thing about the Dominator is that you do not have to spend any points on the soul in order for it to be effective.
With Dominator unlocked, you will instantly get access to Transmogrify and Neural Prod. Transmogrify is probably the best crowd control ability in the game and Neural Prod gives
you a very strong instant attack. I will discuss how to use this exactly below.
Rift Mage Leveling Guide - How to Play
Right now that we have our soul choices sorted, I will be showing you the best way to use these simple steps to level up fast with little difficulty. Now is the time that the Rift Leveling guide gets exciting. Visit here for full walk through up to level 50 http://www.riftmagelevelingguide.info/rift-leveling-guide/
Start off by going 5/5 in Death's Ally, 3/3 in Flesh Rot and getting Grave Rot unlocked for your Necromancer. Also, put 3 points in Improved Life Leech in Warlock.
As soon as you have these talent points set and Dominator set as your third soul (no need to enter any points here), you are set to go.
The Magic Formula
By stacking these classes like we have above, we have created the perfect "magic formula" which is the main basis of this Rift Mage Leveling guide. Now we can use our abilities to take out whole groups of 2-4 monsters with little effort at all.
Obviously the amount of enemies you take out at once all depends on the level difference. For enemies that are your level you will be able to take out about 3 at a time. For one level above you, it's more like 2 at a time, and for 1 level or more below you, 4 at a time.
Here is how it works:
once you find a group of enemies, you want to cast Life Leech on each one from range. Tab through the 2-3 monsters and individually cast Life Leech on each one. Your easily able to get off 2-3 Life Leeches before each enemy can get close to you.
Do not allow your pet to run away, instead let the monsters to come to you. This is quite important. You can set your pet to passive and then later advise it to attack. Alternatively (if you are just killing 1-2 monsters at once), you can just follow it.
After you cast the Life Leeches, simply cast Necrosis and Dark Touch on each monster. Both of these are instant casts and deal damage over time (DoT).
so when all the enemies pile on top of you and all your DoTs are up, you want to throw down Grave Rot on the ground. This is another very powerful DoT spell and it also greatly increases your pet's damage.
With 4 DoT effects on each enemy, they will die very quickly. For any mobs you want to finish off more quickly you can use the "Neural Prod" spell on, which is an instant cast Dominator ability with solid damage.
Do not try to cast Plague Bolt or Void Bolt if you are being attacked by a horde of enemies. DoTs and Neural Prod work perfectly well.
When you can, use the Skeleton Stalwart as a pet, it can easily hold hate on two monsters with DoT effects if y remote control helicopter ou micro it correctly.
Rift Mage Leveling Guide - Mid to Late Game
From here, Keep putting your primary points in Necromancer and your secondary points in Warlock. your aim is to get the Soul Purge ability as soon as possible in the Necromancer tier because this deals an incredible amount of damage also it heals you and your pet at the same time.
Once you get this awesome ability, you can pull several monsters at once and not even worry about putting Life Leech on one of the monsters and using Soul Purge on him instead. This will even help you take out elites (have your pet tank and keep him healed with Soul Purge).
After Soul Purge, you can go a lot of directions with this Rift leveling guide. what I recommend is actually splitting your talents between Necromancer and Warlock, making sure to pick 531276856 up these key skills in your talent tree:
Rift Mage Leveling Guide - Key Skill Points
Necromancer: Life Bane, Feign Death, Ancient Tomb, Empty the Crypts, Lich Form
Warlock: Lingering Pain, Neddra's Torture, Neddra's Grasp, Neddra's Influence, Draining Bolt, Dark Power, Shadow Life, and Improved Warlock armor.
Really, I think a 31 Necromancer / 31 Warlock build is ideal (if they allow you to do that end best rc helicopter buy sell market place -game - we have not yet been able to see this). Warlock has a lot of great talents; Neddra's Grasp is basically an extra DoT spell and a lot of the talents like Neddra's Influence help boost your DoT damage.
By picking up these extra talents, your Necromancer/Warlock combo will be able to dish out serious damage on multiple enemies without ever having to cast anything, have tons of self-healing, and have a great pet! You cannot go wrong with this combo!
