Aqueity and Microsoft sponsor sculpture to support In Bloom 2011 and HCS Family Services

PRLog (Press Release)– Jun 28, 2011– On display through August 21st, more than 30 beautiful fiberglass art sculptures painted by local artists, as well as beautiful floral displays are showcased throughout the gardens and fountains at the Oakbrook Center. Sculptures include leaping frogs, morning glory benches, five-foot-tall hibiscus-shaped fountains and several others. You can't miss the Chicago Blackhawks frog "Stanley", Chicago Bulls "Da Bullfrog", and Chicago White Sox "Firebelly Ozzie" relaxing center stage in the main fountain of Oakbrook Center!

So what's Aqueity's role in this spectacular outdoor event you ask? Aqueity teamed up with the Oakbrook Microsoft Store to co-sponsor a beautiful dandelion sculpture, "Wish", created by local Chicago artist Kevin Taylor. His vision for the "Wish" was to symbolize the hope and inspiration HCS provides to so many families in need. Taylor is noted for creating sculptures for Chicago's Shedd Aquarium, Shakespeare Theater, and Field Museum. He also designed the 2010 Chicago Blackhawks hockey helmets for the Art Institute of Chicago's lions. Taylor put his creative talents to the test by building a glittering, nine-foot dandelion sculpture for Aqueity and the Microsoft Store.

At the end of the exhibit, tickets will be sold for a gala auction to be held on September 24, where the sculptures—some of which are signed by local sports stars from the Chicago Blackhawks and Chicago Bulls —will be sold to raise money for HCS Family Services, one of our favorite local charities. HCS Family Services is a not-for profit organization serving the residents of Southeast DuPage County since 1937 that helps low-income individuals and families by providing personalized guidance and support, education and career development, family strengthening and practical support for immediate basis needs.
