Quote: Deep Silver today announced the development of a new entry to their Dead Island franchise.

Dead Island Riptide is currently in full development by Techland for consoles and PCs. An extensive reveal of the game is planned for later this summer. They made a post about it on the DI Facebook page as well, but it wasn't any more enlightening.

Stock up on zombie survival guides, water, ammunition, and watch this space! What do you guys think this is going to be?

If this is an expansion pack, I'm not all that excited about it... If it's an actual sequel or improvement on what they started with, I'll start doing cartwheels now. I loved the battle system (in advanced mode), and I loved the immersion level, but something about the game started to bore me about 2/3 of the way through...

I'd think it was too early for any kind of meaningful sequel to it, but the first game didn't review all that well either, so you'd have to think they'd be addressing some of those issues... Right?

Regardless though, the first e3 news that actually caught my attention so far.
